Veteran’s Disability Benefits

Veteran’s Disability Benefits are a tax-free monetary benefit paid to Veterans, and in certain circumstances, their families, for disabilities that are the result of a disease or injury incurred or aggravated during military service. These disabilities can include things such as back pain, joint pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as diseases caused by Agent Orange or other toxins. Disabilities can occur as the result of training or military operations, as well as off-duty activities or sexual trauma.

Often, the Department of Veterans Affairs will either assign a low rating to a disability, fail to pay the proper amount of back-pay, or deny benefits outright.
